A common architectural feature put in place avoid moving large objects up or down a staircase. All that’s needed is a platform lift to lift the item second floor. It’s the same concept as having loft doors on a barn. Perhaps someone has a grand piano on the second floor…
Good to see the top door opens inwards and the bottom one outwards.
