New poll: which BlackBerry could be your next?

by Volker Weber

Research in Motion has a strong lineup for this quarter. Four new devices, some of them yet unreleased. There are plenty of pictures of Javelin, the Curve successor on the net. At the BlackBerry developer conference RIM also previewed the Storm , which is supposed to ship later this month from Verizon and Vodafone.

If you are currently a BlackBerry user, I would like to know which your next device could be:

If you already have one of them you can also vote for it of course. :-) I also leave two more choices for those who are not getting a new one this year, or not in the foreseeable future.

I went with the Bold, but probably not for the usual reasons. In my case, I have an iPhone 3G, so I'm not interested in the BlackBerry iPhone clone. If I went with a BlackBerry in addition (and I might, I'm still not sure), it would have to have a real keyboard. Actually, that part of it is probably typical. The part that might not be is the lack of interest in the iPhone-ness of the Storm.

The iPhone is more reliable according to TUAW, warranty-wise, so I am sticking with it, although I am experiencing some strange things when roaming...

I am very interested in the Storm, but I have AT&T and the Storm will only be sold by Verizon here in the US... So it might be a Bold after all. But I voted for Storm since that is the one I would be most interested in.

I'm (patiently!) waiting for the Storm which is expected to be released on the 19th November by Vodafone Ireland (Bold only offered by O2 here).

I did see a Bold but didn't like it over the Curve I have at the moment.

Three Bolds ordered for different users.
Three Bolds defect!

As an BB-Admin I recommend Curve.

Storm, Storm, Storm. I would have purchased an iPhone but for the email limitations with Lotus Notes. I love touch screen. I had one of the first Treo touchscreens which I would hang up by my ear touching the screen, but I still really like touch screens!.

I also think the Haptic touch (tactile feedback) is cool, too, and I am heading to buy one tomorrow when they are released in the U.S.
