sendungmitdermaus tag ist gut.

Das ist also der Google'sche Datenstall. Wirkt auf mich wie ein Atomkraftwerk betrieben von Muesliessern. Und die bunten Rohre (in den GoogleFarben?), da sieht man gleich dass die GooglePeople gute Menschen sind.

Btw ein ganz kleiner Anschlag, ohne zivile Opfer, auf dieses soft target ausgefuehrt von Amerikahassern oder anderen Amoklaeufern haette doch sicher betraechtliche Wirkung. Oder ist die Anlage weitraeumig abgeschirmt? Oder hat Google noch eine Datenfabrik als Backup? Man stelle sich vor, die Welt muesse fuer ein paar Tage ohne Google auskommen, das kaeme vielen Leuten richtig teuer (sogar mir selber, faellt mir dabei ein...). Yahoo koennte in der Zeit vielleicht etwas Boden gutmachen, immerhin.

As always, impressive.
A comment on Juergen's statement about what might happen if this datacenter were taken out of commission by terrorists or the like (leider auf Englisch) : Any disaster at this place would probably have very little effect - everything in Google's cloud is distributed, with a high level of redundancy. Check out the Wikipedia entry for 'Google Platform'. I would imagine that some localized glitches would arise if there was a disaster in a single datacenter, but Google Search would definitely still work.
