Quote of the day
by Volker Weber
IBM have hidden their light under a bushel. Then buried the bushel under concrete. Then built a big sign on the concrete that says "No Trespassing".

I would have to agree.
Passport advantage is a sure fire way to NOT be taken seriously as a web development software vendor. This is just about the most user unfriendly website I have ever had this misfortune to have to use.
It looks like lawyers wrote it.
Here was my IdeaJam suggestion, and some people posted some very good suggestions under it. Perhaps more votes will push the idea further.
Replace Passport Advantage with something simple
Now now, thats most unkind. Just the other day, I learned that IBM have actually kicked off the Lotus Live marketing campaign here in the UK
So far, its just a set of boards in Heathrow Terminal 5, but I'm sure it'll grow.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that of course, Heathrow Terminal 5 is a dedicated terminal and is only used for British Airways and their code-shares. The same British Airways that of course is undergoing lots of threatened strikes. Here's hoping that the price of the advertising actually reflected the reduced footfall - especially among those international business customers that so badly need to learn about the product.
And yes, here's hoping that it does expand beyond a single terminal within a single airport serving a single customer base here in the UK. After all, it'd be a pretty lame campaign if the entire LotusLive budget for the UK was blown on a single site.
Even I - possibly the most cynical Lotus Watcher out there with an interest in the Lotus Brand - cant believe a joined-up organisation such as IBM could possibly get it so badly wrong.

Yes, hiding software from the people who could trial your software for solutions is the most effective way to grow mindshare isn't it ?.. hmm.. So, microsoft obviously have it all wrong....
