Nokia N8 Sample Photos

You want samples from the N8 cameras, I heard you. So I took a walk around the neighborhood and shot a dozen frames. The N8 is in full automatic, and the photos are straight off the memory card. No edits at all. Since the sun is out and the sky is blue, this is not a good photo light. There is lots of it, which is good, but there are also extreme contrasts. A slight overcast would be much better for the camera.

Click any of the photos and it will take you to a Flickr slideshow.

Wow the photos are looking really amazing for a camera phone. But i think it helps a little bit that you are good in making photos too ;-)

Ralf, there is nothing special in these photos. The camera is on full automatic and they are just point and shoot. I put zero effort in. Just a short walk around the block.

To be honest, terrible pictures! Maybe good for a flipchart to memorize or some party shots - at daytime.

Klaus, if the photos are terrible, that's all my fault and not the camera's. A better photographer, that is what's needed. And of course better light.

How I love the internet.

Klaus, in what way is the image quality terrible? Oh yeah, of course, you didn't say.

I can see that the photos are a little blurry and a little noisy, but considering they are taken by a camera phone I think they are fantastic. And 99% of all people, basically all non-photographers, wouldn't be able to see the noise and the lack of sharpness without pixel peeping.

I was always hoping for a (n Android) phone with a good camera and a camera button that actually launches the camera app very quickly. So again, Nokia hardware rocks.

The photos are absolutely stunning..really superb.. i am planning to buy N8 and after looking at your work, i have made up my mind..but just one question, have u shot these photos in automatic mode? to obtain the best pictures, do we have to switch to automatic mode or to various scene modes? do we have a function of aperture control? i would be glad if u can reply in on email..thanks
