Two Windows 8.1 RT improvements

There are two immediate improvements I like in Windows 8.1 RT on Microsoft Surface: the lockscreen can play a slideshow from any folder, here my SkyDrive photostream. And SkyDrive can finally sync to Surface and make files available offline. That was a glaring omission.

Mit keiner Silbe erwähnt Du den Start-Button? ;) Mein Eindruck nach einer Woche Surface RT und jetzt dem Update ist, dass Microsoft ein vorher interessantes Gesamtkonzept zu einem Killer-Device aufgewertet hat. Die wichtigsten Zutaten dazu für mich sind Outlook und die IE-Verbesserungen, aber sie haben sich ja insgesamt tatsächlich eine Menge einfallen lassen.

Der Start-Button ist mir vollkommen wurscht. Den Desktop sehe ich nur für Word. Und da auch kaum, weil das immer Fullscreen läuft. Der entscheidende Punkt ist für mich Skydrive. Das war vorher viel zu hakelig.

Surface finde ich gut. Aber als Reiseschreibmaschine bleibe ich beim Yoga. Beide natürlich RT. Die ganze Legacy-Malware brauche ich nicht.
