olloclip Quick-Flip Case

Yes, there is an iPhone 5 in there. :-)

You probably know the olloclip 3-in-1 lens that's easily attached over the iPhone lens. I have used one at Lotusphere 2012 for some shots, but then gave it back, since it wasn't really in my pocket all the time. It has a big fish-eye, and a smaller wide angle lens on the back. If you unscrew the top of the wide angle lens, it shoots macro through the lens underneath.

Well, there is one problem. You can't attach the lens if you have an iPhone case. And that's why olloclip developed a very clever case of their own. The segment over the camera turns 180 degrees to make the iPhone corner accessible to the lens. And that corner hits the volume up button, which doubles as the camera shutter release. With that flip corner it becomes much more accessible, since you hit the rather large corner instead of the tiny button.

In the photo above you also see an adapter with two tripod mounts and a cold shoe for video lights or microphones. The case itself fits very tightly on the phone, the adapter rattles a bit if you shake it. You could probably fit in some tape to make that a tighter fit.

When you remove the adapter and the lens, and then close the corner, the case looks rather nice and provides a good protection for the phone. But then you will have two items to carry with you. I am not sure that would work for me.

Coming up next is a telephoto lens.
