I love that illusion - I have had it on my machine for a couple of years, and show it to people quite a bit when illusions come up.

That really is amazing to me.

Ich hab darüber vor anderthalb Jahren mal ein paar Zeilen geschrieben: Feuer brennt grün (dort runterscrollen bis zu Adelsons Bild)

I have not seen this before. So just to be clear, the letters A and B are the same colour, not the squares. Do I have it right?

No, the squares have the same color. The letter A is much lighter than the letter B.

Holly crap you're right!

I used a very complicated pattern of white sticky notes on my monitor to verify it. I had to hide all the other squares and the letters themselves before I saw that both squares are the same colour.

That is a fantastic illusion!

Art Director's Toolkit verifies that the above is true. If you're able to hide everything but those squares, you see it is true as well. Great illusion!
