I think, the Griffin PowerMate is now on top of my "want to have this gadget" list. It was made for the Mac but also works with a PC. Well, if anybody spoils me with it, I promise, I will only hook it up to Lucy, the iMac.

there was a 3D creation environment called "tdi", in which you received an outboard panel of six knobs with your software. depending on where you were in the program, you could extrude, spin the model, etc. etc.
early word processors and other devices had 'mission-specific' controls. i hope this little item is a step back to that philosophy.
in other words, i *love* these kinds of things. hope you get one, soon.
sensible design.. reminds me of when apple introduced the throbbing sleep light (as opposed to the older blinking one) with the original ibook and imac dv series; such a simple thing, but such a charming one :)
