Suse LINUX 9.0 available by FTP

Suse now offers Suse Linux 9.0 free of charge for direct download from the Suse FTP server. The FTP version is the same as the retail version -- minus a few program packages excluded due to licensing restrictions. Installation support also is not included.
The Suse Linux 9.0 FTP version is suitable for installation via ftp, nfs, or hard disk. It is not possible to generate installation CDs from a complete download. A mirror of the complete 9.0 FTP directory on your local network can also be used to install systems via NFS.

man sollte allerdings lieber auf einen der Mirrorserver ausweichen, bspw. ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/9.0/
Danke Nico, habe lieber die Pressemitteilung übernommen. Die zeigt auch auf die Installationsanweisung.
die FTP-Version ist generell praktisch, falls man, so wie ich, nur ein minimales System per CD/DVD installiert und dann nach und nach die Sachen nachinstalliert, die man haben will. Dabei ist pin ein unverzichtbares Tool, genauso wenig wie dann yast -i packetname. Natürlich sollte man vorher als Installationsquelle den SuSE.Mirror angegeben haben.
