So WEP doesn't really help? I know it isn't really secure but always thought a certain amount of weak packets (two or three days of listening) is needed to crack it.
Visible in above chart is the SSID, which shouldn't be broadcast at all if avoidable (it usually is, avoidable I mean). Apart from that, AFAIK you are right, Oliver.
No, to both of you.
1. WEP does help. I know the WEP key because the first line is at a friends house.
2. Yes, WEP can be cracked. But why bother. There are so many open WLANs that it hardly makes sense to crack a key.
3. SSID broadcast should not be switched off.
