While the iSight makes for an excellent video chat during daytime and fair weather outside, it does not work very well at night or when it is generally too dark in the office. I think that Apple could change the application to somewhat increase the brightness of the image. The iSight tends to underexpose pictures.
This light might actually change this a lot. I have to see whether this light is distracting — hey, it shines directly into your eyes — or whether it is a good thing. Must put this on my shopping list.
