Greetings from Eyre on Skye
by Volker Weber
We are having a wonderful lunch at Linda and Mark Smith's house on Skye. That is Mark of Information Patterns. Here is a view from their house. Living and working in paradise, how's that? :-)
Update 22. July: Again uploaded new pictures.

Skye is such a beautiful and inspiring place! I was there in 1997 when I backpacked through Scotland. I love Scotland. Would enjoy getting back there. Take care. Be Safe.
Get outta here!!! V, I caught this entry from the rss feed and came over to say I love that place (the Isle of Skye)... and to my wonderment I see that my buddy TK has beat me here, to your site, not the island ;-). I did some backpacking myself around Scotland in the early 90s and had always wanted to visit Skye. Fell in love with the name long ago.
By the way, is there any chance you could send me a bottle of "Stag's Breath"? It is a scotch / fermented honey blend and cannot be found anywhere Stateside. Out of this world on a rainy autumn nite. I promise I'd make it worth your while. If not, you should at least track some down for yourself.
Cheers
Fern. Weh.
No pictures of the happy couple (and baby) themselves? That is a shame.
I don't know if you have any enthusiasm for birds, but you will find the Hebrides full of wondrous things - last time I went to South Uist we saw a hen harrier, a buzzard sitting a few metres away on a fence, and a sparrowhawk, all within five minutes.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday!
Saw you passed the Falls of Dochart in Killin. I will stay in Killin in August for a week. Have you had accomodation there? Hope you enjoy your stay in Scotland. Interested in the full story if you return.
Sorry, no pictures of the lovely couple. That would be too much of an invasion of their privacy. We also did not photograph the house. :-)
Frank, no we did not stay in Killin although we had a recommendation there.
We are now on Lewis, the northernmost islands of the Outer Hebrides. This is a very amazing place. Five rainbows within one hour, big mountains, vast landscapes, the most beautiful clouds I have ever seen. And the sun is still well above the horizon although we are getting close to 10pm.
....genug gesehen....wir hauen jetzt auch ab....wünschen euch noch weitere wunderbare & mystische tage ! bis bald im garten, a&m
O2's network is excellent. So far we never had trouble getting GPRS coverage. Currently we are in the middle of a ferry route between Stornoway and Ullapool.
However, HTTP only via the WAP gateway is not that useful, if you don't have access to IMAP mail. Webmail with vowe@yahoo.com however works OK.
