iSync 2 in Tiger

Syncing the RAZR via Blueotooth is a no-brainer in Tiger. The Treo was a bit more work. I reinstalled the Palm Desktop and told iSync to sync with Palm devices. Unfortunately iSync 2 still does not sync the birthday field between the Treo and the Address Book.

Is your phone unsupported? Check out this macosxhint.

Comments

Thanks for pointing to this hint, but it does not work with the Nokia 6630 :-( The iSync agent on the phone does not start for whatever reason...

Does iSync 2 also sync pictures and address-info from the addressbook app correctly ?

Björn Ognibeni, 2005-05-01

Björn, the RAZR does not store addresses. The Treo does. So it is both yes and no. As for pictures: No, it does not.

I haven't had any luck with the Nokia 9500 either. I managed to get an exception on the phone (Kernel Exec...).

However, some communication between the PowerBook and the 9500 has taken place: My calendar on the 9500 was nuked after the process...

Oops. I hope you had a backup. Rereading the comments to the macosxhint, it appears one may be able to make it work.

Yes, I had a backup.

And now I have it working

Thanks for the pointer. Unfortunately, now I don't have that excuse to buy a Treo ;-)
