Has Microsoft lost its clout
by Volker Weber
First Google comes out with Google Maps, then blows away everyone with Google Earth. Now MS innovates with "Virtual Earth". Right? Let's try it out:
Find Apple in Google Maps and in Virtual Earth. It's not yet there, isn't it? However, you may find some buildings that should not be there.
It's probably as pointless as MSN Search when you might just as well use Google.

I made some comparisons. MSN Virtaul Earth is rediculous. I don't like monopols, but if MS doesn't enhance heavily Google will be a new monopolist with Google Maps.
Lousy detail on the VMaps as well. I'd settle for them to release my browser (FFox) when I hit the Back arrow.
microsoft erased apple! finaly.
Another building that shouldn't be there. Well ... at least because of it's shape ...
Oops ... it disappeared. Once again:

One wonders who planned the building and when?
Awww. They've updated the twin towers photo.
But this does ask the question - how old is their photostock, and what else is wrong ?

Bill, I can still see the twin towers at the MS site.
Half B&W, half color . . . .

This is a location about 2 miles from the Apple campus. The building in the lower right was completed in 1999 (I used to live there!), but the Apple campus location is in black and white and was completed well before 1999 . . . . sounds like M$ has some catching up to do, or they figured everyone in Cupertino and Sunnyvale uses Google anyway ;-)
