cheese

When Ute returned from her last business trip she brought along a small gift: Wensleydale Abbot's Choice Mature Farmhouse Cheddar. Very tasty, and never to be confused with that. No, there is no Gromit around. ;-)

Wensleydale Abbot's Choice Mature Farmhouse Cheddar. That's a mouthful, isn't it ;-)

There's a swiss cheese which has a similar shape, is quite hard and if you want to (and for your first purchase you should) it comes with a round wooden board with a metal pin in the center. You stick the cheese onto the pin and there's also a cheese knife in the package which is stuck onto the pin and revolves around it. By that it scratches off the top of the cheese and you get ultra-thin scrubs (I wouldn't even call it slices) of the cheese. Very delicious.
Too bad I forgot the name of the cheese, but I have it at home...

OK, I want one. ;-)

Ragnar's cheese is called Tête de Moine. I sure like it, too :-)

Do I read this right? Wensleydale branded cheddar?

You should try Wensleydale branded Wensleydale. One of the best British cheeses after Stilton in my opinion.

This classic Monty Python sketch comes to mind:

it is quite unfortunate that I can't bring cheese or meat products back to the US from Europe. Some fantastic stuff I only wish I could get here!
