Syncing mobile devices over SyncML

by Volker Weber

Yesterday I talked about using SyncML to replicate PIM data between mobile devices and a server. Here is a good implementation, and it is free to use.

Sign up at Mobical, let them send you the configuration via SMS and you are all set to sync your phone with their server. You can import/export your contacts as vCard and your Calendar as either iCal or vCal. Mobilcal also give you a nice interface to work with your data.

seems a good solution to a problem I don´t have, as I use iSync on Mc OS X to sync may cellular phones (agenda, adresses and phone numbers) to my Sonyericsson and Nokia 9300 (yes, I bought this after reading vowe.net, had to juggle a little bit to make iSync aware of it, and, alas, now it works flawlessly).

The remaining problem is: How to sync our wonderfully monolithic Notes/Domino group calendar as a user, not administrator (menaing I have zip rights to modify anything apart from my cnfiguration on my trusted powerbook, that no one in the company has any idea of, because of Windows predominancy elswhere in the 1500 employees).

Please, please, please: I need this urgently, since the defunct LipSync doesn´t do Tiger.....

Could you try GSMSync ?
It will be interesting for us to know your opinion about our implementations of SyncML service.
