I used the early beta versions, when it was still video4Skype. Back then you could switch off the message when installing. Did that go away now? If so, very bad idea!
Which Video-plugin for Skype is good, anyway?
I tried Festoon several months ago, but it crashed on my system. Spontania was nice, but when used with a spotty WLAN connection, the decoding artefacts due to packet loss made my girlfriend look like a monster in video conferencing.
Skype 2's integrated video was the nicest solution so far, but it isn't available for Linux yet. I really wish Skype would update its Linux client every now and then.
vSkype was nice and promised to become great. But it became festoon and that's crap. Spontania is nice for small broadband, but has ugly fragments and is inacceptable when the persons are moving. The intergrated solution is godd with normal/larger broadband. But there's nothing really satisfying me yet.
OK, maybe I'm dense, but what does this offer that the video support in Skype doesn't offer out of the box?
Did anybody try Wengo Phone yet?
How does it compare to skype? It has built in video capabilities.
