Lifetime lease of a square foot of Islay
by Volker Weber
Does this establish a permanent address, so I can open a bank account?

They say, ownership of a stampsize piece of land in Ireland makes you a "laird", equivalent of a "lord" (e.g. lord of Kerry, if it´s in that area), entitling you to carry that title on your business card, if you wish. And maybe someone treats you like one in the checkin of airports or hotels :-)
Islay would be in Scotland, not in Ireland. ;-)
Well, on a clear day you can see (Northern) Ireland from Islay ;-)
Not from your land though, you can't even see the Islay shore from it. Not sure if they'll give it to me, but do you want me to collect your rent when I'm over on Islay in two weeks or are you going to collect it yourself?
Please do collect it for me. :-)
Armin, stop telling lies - there are no clear days on Islay ;)
Tsk tsk. Frank - of course there is. "Four seasons in one day"...
Congratulations, Volker. Your now an honorary Scotsman. Next time you come over - we'll get you measured up for a kilt...!
