Firefox Update 1.5.0.3
by Ragnar Schierholz
The Firefox team has fixed the recently discussed bug in the handling of JavaScript. Hence, they published a new update 1.5.0.3 earlier than originally scheduled, the scheduled update releases were renamed 1.5.0.4 etc.

And everyone can use the very nice updatefeature (Help|check for updates...). 3 clicks and Update is done - why doesn't this work so nice in other programs...?
kind regards,
Matthias
3 clicks? I only had one. Firefox notifies me about the downloaded update and asks to restart itself. I click Ok and everything is done.
1.5.0.3 appears to be crashing repeatedly on javascript-intensive pages. *sigh*
Hm, the fix was supposed to fix the JavaScript handling. Maybe the needle was a little too hot and they melted away some of the working code while fixing the bugs.
Finally my favorite browser became more securely.
Also, the update feature disables the rich text field in Thunderbird while a dialog box sits in the background asking if you want to restart firefox. Strangely, it worked from File/New, just not from clicking 'write' or 'reply'.
And there was me thinking that Firefox rendered perfectly and was totally secure already.
Somebody nudge me when it works properly.
*nudge*
