Adobe releases Flashplayer 9 for Intel Macs
by Volker Weber
This is a good update for your Intel Macs. Adobe releases Flash Player 9,0,20,0 for the Mac. It now runs natively on Intel without the Rosetta engine. Linux, Solaris, Windows 95 and NT are still on version 7,0,63,0.

You've lost me - "runs natively on Intel with the Rosetta engine" - If this is running native Intel then Rosetta is not necessary.
"without". My bad.
Actually, it's Adobe who lost me. Since the proposed Intel version really *is* a universal binary, it will run perfectly on any PPC Mac as well. Just tested this with my iBook. No problems whatsoever. Except that it'll use up a bit more disk space.
So, what's the advantage of Flash Player 9, then (except passing those daft browser detection screens)?
