Microsoft releases Internet Explorer 7

by Volker Weber

Please download and test my site, so I don't have to. :-) I am already getting a bunch of hits like these:

Windows-RSS-Platform/1.0 (MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1)
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)

It is kind of ironic, that within one day the first security hole has already been detected. Even more ironic: this vulnerability has been know to exist in IE 6 for half a year now.

The download link is wrong. It starts with "http://www.vowe.net/archives/www.microsoft.com...".

Thanks. It was missing the http:// identifier, so it became a relative URL.

Good things never change...

Startseite einzutragen. Feature?

Ho-hum..... Back when IE6 was released I was first in line. Now that I'm a Firefox devotee, I couldn't care less. I guess that since I'm a developer that I should probably go get it on a test machine. No use messing up my current system! ;)

Looks fine in IE7 from Santa Fe. I can send you a screen shot, if you would like one. I haven't yet spent the time to fiddle with the font sizes and display prefs, so I'm still running in 'install' or 'default' mode.

Per a technote someone posted at devWorks IE7 should be supported by DWA with Domino 6.5.6, 7.0.3, and 8.0:

Your site looks the same as it does in FireFox 1.5, subscriptions work, links work, YouTube works... so unless you get some errors on the server side, everything seems to be okay. :)

@Chris - I just tested DWA 6.5.4 and 7.01 in IE7 and both work. It might not be officially supported, but I don't see any problems. Webadmin in IE7 connecting to Domino 6.5.4 FP3 on RHEL AS4 Update 2 works, too.
