No!
But it's still great!
It's a crying shame that some people would abuse their power to rid the world of terrorism and promote liberty while others would abuse their power just to get off... What an idiot!
By the way
Chris, there is a difference between setting goals and the way one actually pursues them. However, I find it more interesting that you attribute power to a guitar playing man in a web movie. Looks like the landscape of political cabaret starts to slide.
Chris, do you seriously believe that Bush stands even the slightest chance of ridding the world of terrorism? The way things have been going, it looks like he'd rather rid the USA of liberty and promote terrorism.
More of this and similar artists on http://www.thatguitarman.com (in one of the wednesday wakeup calls - I guess around September 9th) he has a live version of that song.
Ummm... Phillip, the two power brokers I'm referring to are Presidents Clinton and Bush. The guitarman has no power except that of crude entertainment.
Okay, then I misunderstood the term "to get off" - I couldn't find it exactly in the dictionary. ;-)
Bush isn’t trying to rid the world of terrorism. Anyone who thinks he is is ridiculously naïve (as is the man himself if he seriously thinks he can achieve such a thing).
Anyway, both presidents abused / are abusing their power. The argument here is quite simple: the actions of one president have had far-reaching negative consequences for the whole world, whereas the actions of the other have had far-reaching consequences for... well, himself, and his local dry-cleaner.
Hardly on the same scale is it?
Chris,
in my book Clinton has damaged the world as whole a lot less by his misuse of power than that other guy.
I gather that you'd probably frame things differently.
In other words:
I prefer a man who only misuses his power to get off, to one who misuses in the ways GWB has demonstrated to the world.
I'm still saddened by the fact that this president has let this chance to make the world a better place, slip from his incapable fingers after 911.
Best regards, Martin
