Does anybody know if Spotlight and Thunderbird 2.0 are compatible now? Can you Spotlight-search your messages?

Michael: Yes. You have to enable the config parameter mail.spotlight.enable and install the mozilla mdimporter. Search the web for thunderbird spotlight for more info.
