VoweWiki to be decommissioned

Over the weekend I will be shutting down VoweWiki. If there is anything of interest for you, please copy it now. Next week it will be gone.
The root cause for the shutdown is abuse by spammers. The wiki is not used enough to justify the maintenance effort to keep the scumbags out.

Damn it - I'll have to copy your VoweLinks - use them all the time (well, quite often:)
Don't worry. I put them on del.icio.us. Just refer to the tags.
A few friends and I have had quite good success using http authentication for editing of wikis with the username/password shown in the realm setting. It's enough to stop bots from modifying the wiki but the average person can still edit it.
Thanks, Patrick. That is a nice idea. Unfortunately I was fighting real people, not bots.

Just switch off write access completely?
A wiki without write access is about as useful as a car without engine.
