BlackBerry Media Sync for iTunes

by Volker Weber

Use BlackBerry Media Sync to get your desktop iTunes music files on your BlackBerry smartphone. Whether it’s a specific playlist from your collection, or a random mix of tunes, it’s incredibly easy to transfer the music you want to take with you. ... If you make changes to one of your iTunes playlists, the next time you sync your BlackBerry smartphone and your computer, BlackBerry Media Sync will make sure the music on your device is updated too.

Requires 32 bit Windows XP or Vista and iTunes 7.2 or higher. Works only over USB. BlackBerrys can't play tracks crippled by Apple's DRM.

This would be quite handy for me right now seeing as my iPod died...if only my curve didn't "forget" where it was halfway through a podcast when powered off :(

Is there something like that available for Nokia phones? Or basically syncing of iTunes playlists to a folder (just that the folder is on a USB connected phone).

Will it work with podcasts, i.e. allow me to automatically remove those that I've already listened to from the device?

Adalbert, Nokia Multimedia Transfer is a good start.

Windows only? Pass....

Andy Mell, 2008-07-24

Thanks, but Nokia Multimedia Transfer is only for Mac. I need a solution for Windows. I will check if the PC suite offers such or even a comparable functionality, but I don´t remember that there.
