And the prize for the worst piece of Mac software goes to ...

by Volker Weber

... PocketMac. First it needs to close ALL other apps to install. Then it takes forever. Then it needs to reboot. Then you do it all over again to install their latest drivers. Drivers?

And when you have done all that, it still fails to recognize the BlackBerry Bold. What a PoS!

Wait what happens when the BB finally has been recognized :-) The real fun starts when you deal with sync errors, aborts etc. etc. Consider yourself warned.

My award goes to Office 2008

Paul Mooney, 2008-08-08

That will not happen. I removed the trash already.

Volker Weber, 2008-08-08

My prize goes to Adobe Photoshop Elements version 6... absolutely the worst installation I have ever seen on a Mac.

Ed Maloney, 2008-08-08

PocketMac is a steaming pile of crap.

I use Missing Sync, but that’s an incomplete BlackBerry solution too, with no sign of Mark/Space ever updating it.

And they do not provide an evaluation version of their PoS and don't answer questions whether it supports Lotus Notes 8 synchronization.

Karsten Lehmann, 2008-08-08

For the record, I used pocketmac sync manager (I paid for it!) to try to sync Lotus Notes with my mac iCal and contacts.... Never, ever worked correctly and anything outside of contact syncing hangs my Mac.
In relation to contact syncing... yeah well if you want to sync Birthdays but do not live in US date format land... forget it - it fails.

I have mailed them, twice, looking for help and then a refund... no answer.

(getting worked up now about this - maybe it IS worse then Office 2008).

Anyway - it can only be described as a pure POS

Lotus Notes 8 installer on Leopard is getting close

Tobias Mueller, 2008-08-08

And it is remarkably slow.
