Two talks about learning
by Volker Weber
I am currently thinking about teaching and learning and I found these two talks very inspiring:
- Jonathan Drori: Why we don’t understand as much as we think we do
- Sugata Mitra: Can kids teach themselves?

Mitra ist klasse. War auch beim DLD Anfang des Jahres hier in München...
No mentioning of the fabulous TED conference without a reference to Sir Ken Robinson: http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/ken_robinson_says_schools_kill_creativity.html
Thank you, thank you, thank you. "Gillian isn't sick, she is a dancer. Take her to a dance school."
@ Dirk: Hilarious and true. Great link! I shared it with some extraordinary people in education I know. I know they´ll appreciate it.
@Dirk, I so love that talk - as home-educators my wife and I tend to subscribe to his way of thinking. Sad that it that option is illegal in Germany as far as I am aware...
Gillian isn't sick, she is a dancer.
Sent a shiver down my spine. A brilliant speaker.
yes, that was the line that caught me most, too. He has a way of changing fast between hilarious and very deep comments.
@stuart: yes, you can't home-educate children here. I didn't know you could in the UK.
