Apple releases tiny 4GB iPod shuffle

No play controls on the device, just an off/play/shuffle selector. You control it through a tiny remote on the headphones. It tells you artist, song and playlist with VoiceOver, and lets you select one of several playlists. That is more control than before, but you cannot use your preferred headphones.

Sometimes smaller is not better
As far as I can see there is no play button on the unit itself. That will make it a bit hard play one of these new shuffles in a car via the radio's AUX jack.

A friend of mine is a little disappointed because he has to abandon the option to hook it up to a larger stereo set.
