Rocky is a dog

Found a nice application for the Android phone. It takes the pictures from your Facebook friends and applies them to the address book. Now you don't have to hunt down pictures of your friends for your address book. And since it syncs them up to Google contacts, they appear everywhere.

So why is Rocky a dog? Because he chose a picture of his dog for his profile:

LOL! That is actually my best dog-friend, Buddy!! Buddy is a rescue dog I saved about 3 years ago. He is very tall, and weighs over 100lbs. When I found him he was his current height, but only weighed 35lbs - he was near death. I nursed him back to health, and he truly is the greatest dog I have ever known.

The picture in question was taken by my well-traveled daughter Kelsey, who is also an artist and ameteur photographer (she should get with Uda next time we're together!). She took that pic of Buddy when he was playing with Mouse (real name: Robin, my youngest daughter who was in Dublin with me last year with Kelsey). I have always thought it was a great pic - the pic of Robin with Buddy conveys unbridled joy, and Buddy in particular was having the time of his life - and this picture reminds me of the best in him.

So, that's the story of that pic - and I am proud to have Buddy represent me ;)

There is an iPhone app, feX, that does much the same task - synchronising facebook contact details with contacts in your address book. It seems to work pretty well.

Great app!

Thanks, Stuart. Apparently feX does a lot more than syncing photos. Nice catch.

There was a phone with a built in OS-function like that announced for "Early in 2009" ... Palm? Hello? Anybody home?
