Google Wave - a developer's eye view
by Volker Weber
Last week, Google announced Wave, a new communication tool presumptuously described as "e-mail, if it were invented today." Now, it's a coming of age for technology companies to write a collaboration tool, put a good spit-shine demo on it, and call it a revolution. The idea is nothing new. In the 80s, we called it Lotus Notes. As of recent, we called it Microsoft Sharepoint. Today, I guess, it's Google Wave.

why does page 2 lead with "My Heart is Human, My Blood is Boiling, My Brain IBM" ?
Likening Wave to Sharepoint seems entirely braindead to me. Apart from the technical feature set, it's very smart of Google to bet on open protocols and an open source reference implementation – this way, it really stands a chance of becoming widely adopted.
@sean, it's from "Mr. Roboto" by Styx (boy do I feel old), and it thus fits with the "robots" concept in Wave.
ah ! and there was me thinking it was a reference to IBM
