Just tried it on MobileMe, and it found the iPod without difficulties.

What's yer password? I want to see if remote wipe works from the other side of the world :p

yep - works really well! Could be a reason to pay for me.com again....

Jens-Christian Fischer, 2009-06-10

Colin, reminds me of the

scratch card scam.

Henrik Heigl, 2009-06-10

Hmm, I really like NOT being traced that way. Just my humble opinion.

You might want to swap out your screenshot. Your MobileMe name - which is your main, non-alias address - is showing in the browser title bar.

David Chartier, 2009-06-10

Ingo, it is an option. iPhone asks you if you would like to have it tracked.

I'm wondering how many competitors of Apple now try to hack that remote wipe service ;-)

Karsten Lehmann, 2009-06-10

How many competitors have tried to hack Blackberry's remote wipe feature? Is the one for the iPhone so different?

Ragnar Schierholz, 2009-06-11

Remote wipe is not special. Exchange Active Sync supports it as well. And with Outlook Web Access 2007 users can do it themselves without their admin.

What they dont tell you, is that this only works if you enable Push data.

If Push is turned off and set to manual checks, mobileme cant find your phone.

Took me a while to work out why it wasnt working.
