Google updates Maps on Android phones

Search for Maps in the Android Market and install the 3.1 update to get new features including voice search, public transit and walking directions, and a beefed-up Latitude.

It force closes much more frequently and eats much more memory. Hopefully they will push another update soon.
It is interesting though that this app is now available in the Android Market. It seems like a preparation for non-google branded phones.
