Can't get it out of my head

by Volker Weber

And don't even want to.

Love the whole Soundtrack of this film. Yann Thiersen is a great artist!

Samuel Orsenne, 2009-07-01

I didn't recognise this, but thought it must be a piece by Sufjan Stevens - rather similar wistful, haunting style.

Nick Daisley, 2009-07-01

No, definitely Yann Thiersen from the soundtrack of Amelie. Lover it.

Willy Gielen, 2009-07-01

This is on my mind since days and it makes me smile. Ute and you know the reason for it better than anyone here ;-)

Another version with quite some nice pictures:

Peter Marck, 2009-07-01

Nick, Samuel and Willy pointed it out. It's Yann Tiersen's (no h) Comptine d'un autre été - l'après midi from the motion picture Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain.

Alex, yes yes yes. :-)

Volker Weber, 2009-07-01

To anyone who likes this I'd highly recommend the soundtrack of "Good Bye Lenin", also from Yann Tiersen. Listen for example here.

Oliver Regelmann, 2009-07-01

Oliver, if I recall correctly then this particular song was on Goodbye Lenin as well.

Volker Weber, 2009-07-01

Volker, you an Einaudi fan then too? If you like this, then I would have thought you would have been!

John Ash, 2009-07-01

It appears so. Although I did not know it so far. :-)

Volker Weber, 2009-07-01

Many people skilled in the art heap derision on his music, dismissing it as 'too easy, too simple', but I think that there is real beauty in that 'simplicity' - if that's what it is.

I'm no musician, but I know what I like!

Thanks for the pointer to YT, that's a new discovery for me...

John Ash, 2009-07-01

vowe, that's what I also thought initially. But Amelie and Lenin don't share songs.

Oliver Regelmann, 2009-07-01

Ahhh, thanks for bringing that up in my mind again. The OST is just as awesome as the movie was.
