Old Sonos controller has some advantages
by Volker Weber
If you listen to Last.fm a lot, you have a very good reason to stay with your old CR100 instead of longing for the new sexy touchscreen beast: the skip forward button. Without even looking at the device you can hit the button to skip a track you don't like. This works in the current zone, no matter which screen you are looking at. Not so easy on the touchscreen controller, which has fewer buttons.

They could add an optional "double-click-on-volume-up-button-to-go-to-next-track"-feature. Like the double and triple click on the iPhone.
They could. But I doubt they would. Sonos keeps their gear very simple to operate. And it would definitely confuse users when double pressing a button does a different thing. And unlike software designed by a committee there won't be so many configuration options.
"unlike software designed by a committee there won't be so many configuration options"Volker, what software might you be referring to? ;-)
Seriously though, the lack of dedicated buttons for forward/back seems to be major omission to me. Very surprising for Sonos.
