Search the Domino Directory from an iPhone

by Volker Weber

Need to look up some person details from the Domino Directory and don't want to go through the web interface? If you have http(s) access to your server, Ziad has a tool for you: NAB Search. There is a free lite version to test it out before you shell out some money for the real thing. Available in english and german.

Does that let you copy the person into your iPhone address book? Will you have to ask your admin to deploy an application on the server?

Can't one simply publish the Domino Directory as a LDAP directory?

It's been half a dozen years since I touched a Domino/Notes system in anger - what am I missing?

Ziad has done a great job - I know if you can think of any feature missing for that app and it's within the capabilities of the APIs etc - he will make it...

@Volker it lets you copy the person into your iPhone address book. The idea: you don´t have to synchronize all the contacts data to the iPhone. You can select a person and copy the contact info on the fly.
You don´t have to ask your system admin to deploy anything on the server. If you can read you Lotus Notes mail using a web borwser, you can use NAB Search for the iPhone.

Thanks, Ziad. I knew that. The question was directed at the offhand comment from Keith who said "you could just use ...".
