Nothing really changes

by Volker Weber

It's been a hundred days since I last wrote about OpenNTF 2.0. After talking to a few members I am under the impression that they know what's going wrong, but they can't fix it. Plenty of chiefs, not enough indians. It's not so easy to find volunteers who would like to work under committee supervision. The site continues to be as engaging as the Lotus Notes landing page at ibm.com.

If you actually read the meeting minutes, you will find that Elguji has rejoined OpenNTF, which is a good thing.

Hi Volker - yes meeting minutes are very droll, however I feel there has been many other posts of late which are of interest for Notes & Domino developers (who the site is for).

Anyway, isn't content king not how interesting we write the blog? The current level of new code, downloads, page hits beats any time in OpenNTF history and you certainly do not need to be under any supervision to do that.

So I have to ask, as an Indian, what are you expecting thats not being delivered?

Engage the visitor. Imagine Amazon was built by OpenNTF. How much would they sell. I thought I had beaten that drum loud enough (last paragraph).

As a user of the site I am not seeing the issue? If your a notes developer you know what you want to search for, you can browse the projects, see the screen shots, download the code.

Is it that there is not enough screenshots visible on the front page?

As soon as I get around to it I plan on being an "indian" :) As do some others who have expressed an interest in the department I work in. Should be sorting that out in the new year (December is always busy for me. :/ ).
