I agree .. in absolute terms.
However they deviated from the Android Look and Feel and used the iPhone Look And Feel instead. I am not sure how much I like it. From a pragmatic point of view, it's probably a good decision.
What I like about HootSuite for Android is that it came about through the acquisition of Swift, an independently developed Twitter client. There is big risk in building commodity apps like Twitter clients, because eventually you will compete with the big boys, but in this case it has paid off nicely for Sebastian. Good to see Android development transitioning from grassroots hobby into the professional realm.
however, the ugly ow.ly links remain.
The link description has to be at least twice as catchy to make me click through.
