Interesting read, but I think he is a bit to sceptic and also doesn't take patents into account. As sad as it is (and it is very sad), this might be a great defense for HTC.

If you don't know the author, I advise to check his credentials.

Was your comment related to me?

If so, are you implying that if there were any notable patents he would have mentioned it?

Mariano Kamp, 2010-03-23

Just read who Jean-Louis is.

You're talking in riddles.

I knew who he was before I wrote the first comment. I don't see why you mention this? Yes, he is an insider, but does that mean that not mentioning patents means they are worthless or what are you trying to imply? I am not trying to be complicated, but I really can't follow your train of thoughts.

Mariano Kamp, 2010-03-23

My train of thoughts? Jean Louis Gassée is not just an insider, he may as well be the insider. He has both experience in success as in failure.

What's your train of thoughts? HTC should bye Palm to get hold of their patents?

Volker Weber, 2010-03-23

Yes, that was all I meant to say above.

To a lesser extent though I think that HTC has done a great job with the Sense UI and may benefit from some Palm people to go further down that path.

I just sold some Apple stock and bought a tiny piece of Palm ;)
