Air traffic is picking up

And it's not VFR in lower flight levels. LH494, service from Frankfurt to Calgary, for instance is cruising at 33,000 ft in this picture.

Cool page ... didn't know that one before. Thx! :-)
Don't panic if a flight disappears. This is a distributed effort with receivers on the ground. There are more white spots than coverage.
Air traffic is picking up?
Not here, it isn't.
Currently I only see LH418 FRA-WDC and LH422 FRA-BOS in the UK and LH474 MUC-YUL over Ireland. KLM 757 AMS-PTY and KLM25 AMS-ATL are headed your way.
Also wenn die Angaben stimmen, fliegt doch keiner unter 3000 Metern...ist ja schon komisch...
Volker, really nice webpage, thansk for pointing it out.
Since you have a nice assortement of Smartphones, could you share which of the devices can handle the http://www.flightradar24.com/ gracefully?
My impression is that many web 2.0 style pages do not work well on smartphones.
Those websites are usually very Javascript-heavy. Look at the performance numbers. There is more than an order of magnitude between smartphones (and the iPad) and your computer.
@Martin: The site renders OK the iPhone. But it is slow and can't keep up with the constant updating. As Volker wrote, RAM and CPU limitations are the issue, and will be for other phones as well.
On the iPad it is actually usable.
