I think I want one

Apple announced new stuff. iMacs with i3, i5, i7 CPUs, new Mac Pro, battery charger (a f&cking battery charger, can you believe that?) and a new trackpad. Of course a magical one. I think you already read it somewhere else.

My iMac is still fine. But I think I could use that trackpad? I enjoy using it on the MacBook, so why not on the desktop?

For the same reasons I use the Wacom Bamboo.
It gets the job done well, with a few blips here and then.
As my gear is from the pre BT era the USB on the Wacom is very welcome.

Hmmmm. I have one of the original Fingerworks (the company who was bought by Apple for their very astonishing touch technology) touch tablets. I used it for some time, but switched back to mouse / trackball. The Fingerworks keyboard on the other hand was quite a different beast: pure magic. Regular typing, "magic keyboard moves" and mouse gestures all on the same surface; no need to move your hands from the keyboard.
