Search for flights with ITA OnTheFly
by Volker Weber
I discovered ITA OnTheFly this morning after reading Ed's tweet. It's indeed pretty good, especially because you can select your location for flights between destinations with all close-by airports or specific ones. It presents you a matrix that lets you drill down into individual flights with their prices:
When you are done, you can email the itinerary:

The concept is nice, too bad that they don't have a version for Android (yet).
Also their databse/algorithms don't seem to be to well, I tried to search for a flight within Germany with their webseite tool. They basically only presented me with expensive flights via Mallorca (haha), but I know that direct flights for much less money should be available..
Does anyone know a really good website for looking for cheap flights worldwide and in Europe/Germany?
I always have to look through four or five flight search tools as well as several websites from airlines in order to find a good deal.
I checked the tweet as well this morning and installed it. Like.
Daniel try skyscanner.net, it uses most of the cheap airlines that aren't found on things like Travelocity.
Thanks Bryan, this website seems to be really good! The only thing that I can't seem to find is a +/- 1 day search. But I found that the day can be relatively easy changed as well in the search results. A matrix would still have it's benefits though. :)
Had a look at the website after I read that Google bought it. Looks nice, simple yet powerful.
Last time I had to book a flight I used ebookers.com, which actually looks quite similar.
@Daniel: I use Kayak.com to search for inexpensive flights. It is usually very good.
