IBM presents Project Northstar
by Volker Weber
I just attended the launch event for the IBM Customer Experience Suite, that delivers on the Project Northstar vision. Since it is not entirely clear, what and how IBM delivers on that vision, I thought I'd give you one example:
The best Web experiences make all users feel like the experience was custom fit for them - based upon their preferences, device, location, social networks, and behaviors.
Without further ado, here is the custom tailored experience as viewed through several devices:

LOL
They have reached all their goals in the first strike. Obviously :-)
sehr schön ;-)
you are a nasty nasty man :->
Surprise, surprise. ;-)
How about the 6-8 character passwords, registration for a demo, Portal6Demo, exciting product information pages etc.?
Exceptional Web Experience? Erm yeah...
I like this one better. An exceptional presentation experience
Still wondering why I am cringing. What value does this bring? It seems to me they are trying to deliver what is already served by many other web platforms.
I like that the product manager posts a video talking about Project Northstar to a Youtube channel named AwesomeBobcatVideos. (no offense Daniel)
Also, good to see that the overview video provides so much detail.
Sorry, too easy ;-)
Ah. Pricing starts at $193,000 minimum. I'll move along now. Thanks for wasting my time.
The consultants who install this, will cost a lot more. :-)
I guess that I am not the only one disappointed by the lack of products demonstrating an exceptional web experience. Heck, there wasn't even a browser in the demos.
After the hype, it's a bit of a let down...shame really.
I guess they thought that naming it "Workplace Part II" wasn't Web 2.0-ish enough.
the "non-flash-version" is so Über-cool as a bunch of patients of a geriatric clinic setting off for a go on rollerblades in front of Notre-Dame at night with their eyes covered. No offense to anyone in their nineties trying to skate - you got my full adoration.
