Android 2.2.1 on the Nexus One
by Volker Weber
Download, copy to SD card as update.zip, power down, hold volume down and power on, with volume buttons scroll down to "recovery" and press power button, at the attention sign press volume up and power, from the menu select "Apply sdcard:update.zip" with track ball, reboot when finished.
Hope it fixes my two outstanding issues:
- Wi-Fi won't reconnect without toggling Wi-Fi.
- Digitizer fails to read vertical position until put to and woken up from sleep.

Hrm, friday afternoon ... don't touch a running system ;).
I guess I can stand one weekend longer toggling Wi-Fi when switching office or getting home.
Chicken!
My google nexus one also will often not reconnect to my fritz box-wlan after waking up from standby or sometimes even not when i get home. This is really annoying, i hope it will get fixed. I once saw a similiar problem on the iphone 4, but not regularly. Seems these mobile device treat wifi a bit differently compared to pcs/macs.
does not work on german google nexus one...
@Olaf
Not chicken... Experienced!
Christian,
Google is aware of this WiFi issue and I suspect that this update includes the fix (otherwise the next?).
Thank you very much and have a save trip.
ciao marco
The patient one will succeed ;).
Got this upgrade OTA this morning. It went smooth, no problems, at all.
Toggling Wi-Fi not necessary for me anymore.
I successfully managed to install 2.2.1 on my Google Nexus One. But the Wifi-sleep-problem is still there: After sleeping or after coming back to my office with wifi, the Nexus One does not reconnect. This is really annoying. Any idea?
Christian,
I think it is related to WPA. You could consider not using encryption to be sure and then submit a bug report to Google b.android.com.
Cheers,
