The Bold 9780 is a revised version of the Bold 9700 with BlackBerry 6.

It supports 3G networks around the world, includes Wi-Fi(R) with support for carrier supported Wi-Fi calling (UMA where available) and GPS for location-based applications and geo-tagging. It comes with a 5 MP camera with a full complement of high-end features including continuous auto focus, scene modes, image stabilization, flash and video recording. The BlackBerry Bold 9780 also includes 512 MB Flash memory and an expandable memory card slot that supports up to 32 GB of additional storage.

I am bit confused about RAM. 512 MB Flash is not RAM. The specs talk about "onboard memory", 128 for the Bold 9000, 256 for the 9700 and 512 for the 9780, which could mean RAM. In any case it's a Bold with Torch specs. Available next month around the world.

Question: when do we get to see a BlackBerry 6 upgrade for the 9700? And do we want it?

YES WE WANT THE 6 UPGRADE FOR THE 9700! I do not understand what is taking this F*****g long I must admit.

Oh yes, we want it. But do we really want it? People wanted iOS 4 on their iPhone 3G until they had it. Runs fine on 3GS but not 3G. What about BlackBerry 6? Does that run on a Bold 9700 with half the memory?

So you recommend to wait for 6.1?

Sven Richert, 2010-10-27

I have no idea. I am wondering.

I had lunch with a guy from RIM last week in Melbourne. He had a prerelease v6 on his 9700. I played with it and it felt snappier and more consistent than my v5 9700, so yes we want it.

Stephan H. Wissel, 2010-10-27

Oh yes we want OS6 on all devices.
