Memolane

What I don't get yet is the social aspect of MemoLane. I know why *I* want access to all this stuff, but I'm not sure why I want to make it open to others, or to what granularity.

What is Memolane? It's an online service which aggregates a timeline of the pieces you publish on the web. They currently support Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Picasa, Last.fm, Foursquare, Tripit, YouTube and any RSS feed. It basically aggregates what you shared already.

I find it quite redundant since Google already follows me. If you find Memolane scary, then you might want to reconsider your public life. My brain is very good at aggregating information. If you publish on your site, on Facebook, Twitter, or Flickr, chances are that I have seen (and memorized) it.

With in Memolane you are pulling information in from multiple sources, if I have information on Facebook shared with Friends only, why would I then want to open that content up in Memolane to all? While other sources such as Twitter and Flickr, or my blog are public and in google.

I am not getting in to a conversation about whether or not my Facebook data is really private to my friends only, that is a different conversation altogether
