HP's CEO Leo Apotheker Explains Plans For WebOS
by Volker Weber
CEO Apotheker just said that the HP TouchPad will ship in June, and that HP will ship a beta version of WebOS running in a browser on Windows by the end of the year. It will then ship WebOS on Windows PCs in 2012 as he has previously mentioned.
webOS in a browser. Oh dear.

To what purpose?
Man, I hope webOS doesn't die the death at the hands of a vendor who doesnt understand the value of the asset they acquired. Not unlike Android 1.0 and the G1, the Palm Pre was a pretty crappy device with software that showed an awful lot of potential. Unfortunately I doubt HP are as invested in webOS as Google are in Android.
Jeff, I'm afraid that's to late. HP, namely Apotheker, proofed not having an idea of the smartphone-Business at all already.
Last april I judged it a chance for webOS being taken over by a strong partner. In the last 11 month HP convinced me that thereis not only one 'dancing elephant' in the show.
R.I.P. webOS - I'll miss you!
