#dickbar takes an absence

by Volker Weber

Rather than continue to make changes to the QuickBar as it exists, we removed the bar from the update appearing in the App Store today.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

We believe there are still significant benefits to increasing awareness of what’s happening outside the home timeline. Evidence of the incredibly high usage metrics for the QuickBar support this.

Next time you add a great feature, just let me switch it off, OK? I am going to be extra super careful before allowing an update of your client.

I love some of the bullshit in that blog post - "The iPhone app also contained a new feature we wanted to test ...". They would get more goodwill and sympathy if they just admitted it was a mistake. It is usually big, publicly traded companies with shareholders to answer to that have to justify their fuck ups as experiments. But I guess thats where Twitter, Inc is headed.
