Chromebooks boot in 8 seconds and resume instantly. Your favorite websites load quickly and run smoothly, with full support for the latest web standards and Adobe® Flash®. In fact, Chromebooks are designed to get faster over time as updates are released.

I have briefly tested a CR48, and I was quite impressed.

"Chromebooks are easy to share with family and friends. They can log in to experience all of their own Chrome settings, apps, and extensions, or use Guest Mode to browse privately. Either way, no one else using your Chromebook will have access to your email and personal data."

Obviously they are hearing how irritating it is that the iPad doesn't have profiles.

It's a lot like the Network Computer message from 10+ years ago. It will be interesting to see if takes off this time.

That was actually the most impressive part of my test. I picked up the machine, and within one minute from pushing the power button I was set up with everything. Mail, calendar, docs, bookmarks. Everything.

My one complaint was, that I did not have all my services available. And the need to be online. Apparently Google is working on both issues.

You can try it you self on your own machine now.
