Entweder sind sie hinter dir her, oder in der Gegend läuft einer mit einem IMSI-Catcher rum. Oder O2 macht Wartungsarbeiten. In jedem Fall auflegen.
Encryption is optionel in GSM nezwprks and only applied if both parties (handset and base station) aggree and no man-in-the-middle disagrees. Combined with the rather weak encryption of GSM networks this can become nasty. In general, you shouldn't consider any communication over GSM networks to be private unless additional encryption is applied.
If you are interested in a few details, there were a couple of talks at last year's 27C3 about GSM security. They even demonstrated live snifing of a GSM call. See this talk and related videos for the nasty details.
Im Fernsehen gab es doch mal einen Artikel, keine Ahnung wieviel Panikmache das schon wieder war, aber mit dem entprechenden Equipment konnte die Person recht problemlos Handytelefonate belauschen. Kommt diese Meldung immer, ist das nicht mehr oder weniger Default bei GSM Netzwerken?
